Chef Koochooloo is a NSF funded EdTech early stage startup focused on teaching children math, science and cultural geography through healthy cooking. If you can manage multiple projects at a time, are incredibly organized and detail oriented, and a top-notch communicator, then this will be a dream job for you. You will play an important role in telling the Chef Koochooloo story, writing grants and designing interactive curriculum content.

The position requires in-depth knowledge or interest in K-6 science (NGSS) , mathematics (Common Core), and ELA/DLL learning  creative flair and an ability to expressing ideas in writing and interactive formats. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Spearhead written projects to communicate Chef Koochooloo’s impact on school, government, and district partners
  • Develop and expand Chef Koochooloo’s instructional coaching framework and impact analysis
  • Write grants and other funding proposal content
  • Create curriculum content
  • Interact daily with families, students, volunteers, and community members
  • Ability to teach in schools in the South Bay Area (1-2 hours per day)


  • Entrepreneurial spirit (There is no one here to show you the way, we are pioneering a brand new concept in education)
  • Creative flair and the ability to expressing ideas in writing and interactive formats. 
  • Experience teaching K-6 math – ideally as a qualified teacher.
  • In-depth knowledge of common core math (K-6) and NGSS, ELA and ELD
  • Attention to detail, perfect grammar and proofreading skill. 
  • Be tech savvy – know how to use a variety of online software tools for editing and creating images, videos and other forms of content.
  • Empathy for our customers – who are parents of K-6 children
  • Be self-motivated, efficient and able to manage remote working
  • Be great at cooking with kids and enjoy it!

Compensation: We are an early stage grant funded company. Until additional funds are raised through your own efforts, the salary range will remain 55k-75k. Upon additional fundraising, the salary will also augment.
